Idol To Exceptionalism 5

$1,800.00

sterling silver, copper, stainless steel

3.5”x 1.75”x 2”

2019

This small-scale sculpture hangs on the wall or can be worn as a broach, using the integrated pin. The copper has been patinated to a dark black/brown so it contrasts with the depletion-gilded sterling silver.

This is a miniature version of Idol To Exceptionalism 3, made to use the body as it’s gallery.

Inspired by a Bobcat Skid-Steer, this little sculpture is clinging to the wall in an irrational attempt to defy gravity. What is it doing up there? Is it climbing or hanging on for dear life? The hidden connection allows to it feel as if it is achieving the impossible.
